The head on this quite complicated piece of carving is
thought to be representational of Christ. The Green Dragons are quite
naively portrayed - the tails of two evolve into sprigs of foliage at
their tips whilst the central one has two branches of foliage sprouting
from his mouth. It is not unusual for animals and foliage to run into
each other in carvings of this period.
