Original stone finish (21)

This dignified King gazes regally down from the vault of the south transept roof, from which lofty vantage point he must have watched over such goings-on as the Battle of Tewkesbury, the destruction of the great Lady Chapel by Henry VIII and the collapse of the spire a few years later.

My sister is convinced there's a striking similarity between this carving and Faramir in the Lord of the Rings movies!
