Original stone finish (29)

Each of the three dragons has in its jaws the neck of the next, so forming a sort of trefoil and perhaps symbolising eternal life. The dragons are fine pieces of stone carving and the carver has given them energy and fluidity. Their tails are forked and some have been carved passing right through the mouldings of the vaulting ribs - a nice touch. The carving style suggests that the same mason carved Nos. 27, 28, 29 and 32.
