Original stone finish (39)

A beautifully naturalistic piece of carving showing a sow with her six piglets - note that the pig is of an early breed, not dissimilar to a wild pig. Interestingly, on three sides of the boss the vine leaves have incised central ribs, but on the fourth they are raised.
