This voussoir (arch stone) is reproduced from the tomb of John Swinfield,
Chancellor to Hereford Cathedral and depicts a charmingly carved pig with
an acorn. The pig, or swine, is a pun on the name Swinfield, an architectural
pun such as this is known as a rebus. The set of three voussoir miniatures
(No's 50, 51 and 52) can be built into an arch.
