Original stone finish (86)

This happy, grinning Green Lion beams down from the north wall of the south east transept. This transept was almost certainly the chapel of St. John the Evangelist and the Blessed Michael built by Thomas de Cantebrugge. Interestingly another Green Lion of strikingly similar design is to be found in the south aisle of Weobley Church in Herefordshire - I feel certain they're both the work of the same stone mason
