Welcome to our Specials Shop. This is the place where some real rarities turn up! The miniatures in this section don't have regular production finishes and as such are not part of any "set", but are small numbers, sometimes "one-off"s, with special finishes which we have developed, evolved, invented and generally dreamed up. In the past we've sold these pieces at Green Man fairs and the like where they've been eagerly snapped up (they've not, however, been generally for sale at the cathedral shops).

Those of you who have visited this part of our site before will notice it has changed somewhat. Previously we were able to offer a limited selection of "specials", but were unable to provide online shopping for each of them; this was, to be honest, a pain in the posterior for customers, since it eliminated the possibility of making a card purchase. So, after hours and hours of Deliberation and Deep Thought, we've moved the "specials" to Ebay and now you can make easy and safe automated payments for one-offs (We recommend you sign up to Paypal on Ebay - it makes life much easier). We are delighted to be able to offer, once again, this hand painted edition of this particularly lovely roof boss. Close examination of the original carving reveals it was once brightly painted. Porcelain painter Judith Grainger has recreated the medieval splendour of this boss with her delicate brushwork. Each example comes with its own individually numbered and signed certificate of authenticity. The miniature is approximately 4 ½  inches (11 ½ cm) tall.

No. 44P, the Chester Cathedral roof boss showing the Virgin Mary and Christ. Due to popular demand we have reintroduced this most splendid, hand painted miniature. This is the most highly detailed and complex painted version of any piece we have ever produced and is made specifically to order. Each example, hand painted by porcelain painter Judith Grainger,  comes with its own individually numbered and signed certificate of authenticity. The miniature is approximately 4 inches (100mm) tall.
